The stage is set, the time has come, and we are here to fight purpose with choice, the OTS crew takes a look at the final (for now) Matrix film and we reach the Revolution with Neo, Trinity and Morpheus fighting with us against Machines and the Agent Smith!

Smith only has purpose hence he mindlessly makes copies of himself to infect the matrix in an attempt to take over. Its really a yin and yang between the Oracle and the Architect while Neo is a refection of humanity identity and choice. LOVE is the rogue element that allows Neo to break the cycle or rebooting the matrix like all the other iterations

The actors and actresses of the film were required to be able to understand and explain The Matrix. Simulacra and Simulation was required reading for most of the principal cast and crew. Keanu Reeves stated that the Wachowskis had him read Simulacra and Simulation, Out of Control, and Evolutionary Psychology even before they opened up the script, and eventually he was able to explain all the philosophical nuances involved. Carrie-Anne Moss commented that she had difficulty with this process.

  • Simulacra and Simulation examine the relationships between reality, symbols, and society, in particular the significations and symbolism of culture and media involved in constructing an understanding of shared existence.
