NOTES

  • The title "Parabellum" comes from the Latin phrase: "Si vis pacem, para bellum" which means "If you want peace, prepare for war." It is also an alternate name for the ubiquitous 9mm handgun cartridge ("9mm Parabellum").

  • Halle Berry broke three ribs while filming the movie

  • Keanu Reeves has stated in interviews that he does not want the franchise to be destroyed by sequels and the 'John Wick' series will most likely conclude in Chapter 3.

  • The glass-structure where John fights Shinobi 1 and Shinobi 2 in the film's climax cost $4 million to construct.

  • When Winston welcomes John to the glass penthouse he states that they only use that room for special occasions; to see what the enemy is holding under the table. This is a clear tip-off that Winston is now, indeed, John's enemy and no longer an ally.

Will he ever retire? Probably not because there is a third film but maybe just maybe he will get to rest (in 10 more movies).

On The Subject: Of John Wick

An ex-hit-man comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters that killed his dog and took everything from him. Obviously this means we are breaking down the John Wick films and the OTS crew decided there favorite characters, moments and deaths. We also decide what doesn't work in a nearly perfect action movie!

John, is a man of focus. Commitment. Sheer will. Something you know very little about. I once saw him kill three men in a bar… with a pencil. With a fuckin' pencil. Suddenly one day he asked to leave. It was over a woman, of course. So I made a deal with him. I gave him an impossible task. A job no one could have pulled off. The bodies he buried that day laid the foundation of what we are now. And then, my son, a few days after his wife died… you steal his car, and kill his fuckin' dog.
