Stop Hoarding Physical Movies & Start Curating Your Library (IWM-002)

Discussing the pitfalls of physical media collecting and why I have moved from being a collector and/or hoarder and moved towards creating a curated movie library.

I view hoarding as buying for the sake of buying and trying to amass as large of a library as you possibly can without any regard for whether you enjoy what you're buying. I view collecting as going in with a completionist mindset and trying to have complete collections of every movie in a series or every release from a label without any consideration for whether you want to revisit each of those movies. I think of curation as creating a library of movies that you love and that you want to rewatch and enjoy the highest quality available to you.

I should note that I am not trying to tell you how to spend your money or how you should enjoy physical media, I am just sharing my journey with it and maybe it will resonate with you or maybe you'll think it is stupid. The one piece of advice I would offer is that I don't think you should go into debt to buy a movie.
